What are Orthotics?

The Foot Levelers custom orthotics are designed specifically for each individual’s feet, helping achieve a balanced foundation and stabilized pelvis.  The Foot Levelers custom orthotics are handmade for your unique feet, based on 3D scans and your Chiropractor’s exam.   Only Foot Levelers custom orthotics support all 3 arches of the foot, which make up the plantar vault properly addressing total body wellness from the ground up. Foot Levelers help more than your feet!  These stabilizing orthotics bring health and healing to the whole body by balancing the musculoskeletal system. The realignment of the foot helps restore proper function of the lower limbs, to help eliminate foot, leg, and back pain. This enables the individual to continue an active lifestyle with improved performance. We offer a variety of styles that are tailored for the everyday shoe or for athletic performance.

Are orthotics covered under most insurance plans?

Yes.  Check under your personal insurance coverage to see if what specialties can prescribe the orthotic.  A referral from your family medical doctor is required for re-imbursement by your insurance company.

How are the orthotics made?

Following a thorough gait analysis by your Chiropractor, the orthotics are made by using a 3D Foot Scanner which takes 16 specific measurements of the foot to best fabricate your custom orthotic.  Maritime Chiropractic & Wellness is one of the first clinics to offer a foot structure gait analysis of the feet and forward-head postural scanning system. The 3D Foot Scanner will give you a report of findings highlighting imbalances and asymmetries between the feet, known as the Pronation Stability Index, and reports the status of all three arches of the foot.   The 3D posture scanner provides analytical measurements of forward head posture, referred to as Tech Neck Index.  Once the scan is completed, you will receive a comprehensive full-body analysis from head to toe in your report of findings.
